Within the first few days, I found myself traveling across all five boroughs, gaining a passion and love for the city I had never experienced before during my four years at NYU. I learned skills I never thought I would be able to do: from writing grant proposals, to contacting city councilmen, to helping teach mural classes in the Bronx. Jeremy’s encouragement and training paired with my activities as an intern gave me practical opportunities to put what I was learning about into practice. – Brendan Bubion
Brendan Bubion joined Thrive Collective as a communications interns while a film student at NYU Tisch School of the Arts from January – May 2015. He previously connected with us as a sophomore looking for a subject for his documentary film class. He took on our “Roots of Resilience” mural project at PS 329 in Coney Island during their recovery from flooding during Hurricane Sandy.

After his student days ended, Brendan has remained a friend and colleague of Thrive Collective, visiting whenever work brings him back to New York City, and also continuing to amplify our story. Here is a fifth video he produced for the online journal Parent.co in 2017.
