PS 123K: Can't Stop / Won't Stop

Featuring Art Direction by Danielle Mastrion (Brooklyn 2025)

This mural project at PS 123K was a vibrant, collaborative effort that brought students’ creativity and school pride to life across three walls. Inspired by student drawings and classroom themes, the mural celebrates learning, imagination, and identity; highlighting affirmations, nature, and STEAM in a colorful, engaging style. One of the central themes, “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop,” reflects the school community’s unstoppable spirit and commitment to growth, creativity, and resilience.

The experience was incredibly meaningful. The students, many of whom were passionate about art, enthusiastically participated in the concepting sessions—sharing ideas, sketching designs, and bringing high energy to the planning process. Lead artist Danielle did a phenomenal job honoring their visions, transforming their original drawings into mural-ready artwork while keeping their authentic styles intact. Students were excited and proud to see their designs come to life as they helped paint the mural.
