Rhymes Help Young Minds Excel at Adrian Hegeman P.S. 92

Thrive Collective & Speek Lyfe are proud to present another R.H.Y.M.E music and mentoring project with students at Adrian Hegeman P.S. 92

Guided by mentor and teaching artist Lawrence Coles, 5th grade seniors worked together to leave a lyrical legacy for their younger peers at PS 92 before graduating. Over the course of 12 weeks students engaged in a culturally rich, collaborative journey of creative expression, exploring the art of rap and storytelling through music. Along the way students practiced public speaking, creative writing and goal setting.  The music video shot by Eric Mason captures the energy, fun and togetherness that was part of each session. In the end the program culminated with a celebration of the students original project “Follow the Rules”.
