For this project, we paired up with NeON Arts, a wonderful organization that provides art programs and creative activities to young people throughout New York City. Kadeem Phillip lead as Teaching Artist and Will DeNatale took on the role of Project Manager. They found that the creative ideation process between the students, staff and community was an organic and thoughtful process. After facilitating several art making workshops, Kadeem and Will got to work creating a cohesive vision for the mural that combined the ideas and images the students and staff were interested in. We were so thrilled that everyone was so involved and passionate about the project. Even with the blazing sun and dramatic heat, everyone came through and stepped up to create a beautiful mural that can be seen from the street, and from the above ground train.
