SVA Mural Makeover: Larger than Life

Artist Pelumi Ayeni designed the “Larger than Life” mural as part of the Soundview Academy for Culture and Scholarship mural makeover in 2025.

This is the main student entrance to the school. The imagery includes students and the school’s acronyms in a larger-than-life style. This is a way for the school to feel seen in a co-located setting where they often appear hidden away inside the building. The overall mural incorporates familiar scenery of the Bronx and the location of the school.

Soundview Academy for Culture and Scholarship shares a campus with IS 131 Albert Einstein School.
