This project was completed by artists, students, and volunteers from Thrive Collective’s San Diego affiliate Concrete & Canvas during the second year School Partners USA pilot project. Luis Bautista forged a partnership with Jardin de Niños “María Teresa de Calcuta” elementary school in Tijuana that included construction projects, pop-up medical clinics, and this school mural project.
The mural “Vivan los Niños” was inspired by the everyday magic of childhood, a stage in life where dreams and imagination are the most valuable. The colors, ecosystems and the different activities represented invite children to enjoy childhood and its magic.
