The Great Reveal

“The Beginning of PS 50 Stars” mural by Plushie adorns the school’s central staircase with a colorful celebration of diversity.  Third and fourth graders at the Jamaica, Queens school interpreted the theme, drawing inspiration from diverse family histories from Latin America, South Asia, The Caribbean, and more. During after school paint sessions, students eagerly shared paint with each other and made sure to paint in all the brick grooves! For the school’s ribbon cutting, the students ripped off the paper hiding the mural below in celebration of their hard work.
