Artist Jodi Dareal and 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students at PS 53 designed and painted three new murals this spring. Two explore their favorite books and the theme “Reading is Fundamental.” The third explores the ways that, “Together We Shine.” One class from each grade helped brainstorm concepts and develop designs. Then teachers selected five students from each class to help paint.
