PS 91X: Spread Your Wings

The overall theme of this mural is the celebration of different cultures within the school. At the beginning of the project, the students came with questions and an upbeat energy! Some weren’t sure what a mural was at first but as they learned, they were eager to get started!

The students brought out a lot of important imagery from Peach Tao’s activities that were incorporated into the mural. Such as the big butterfly, flowers, and rainbows! Another important piece about The students painting this mural in the school’s playground is that it also doubles as a NYC Public Park. A lot of the students that attend PS 91X live in the neighborhood, so they commune and forge friendships in their beautiful playground in and after school!

While there were some weather delays during production, the project was very successful! Thanks to Peach Tao’s experience and the students’ enthusiasm, those setbacks set up success.
