To commemorate the Brooklyn Nets’ 10th anniversary in Brooklyn, the team commissioned Thrive Collective students and artists to interpret “The Brooklyn Way” in public art murals in four Brooklyn neighborhoods: Bay Ridge, Coney Island, Flatbush, and East New York. This project involved collaborating with PS 188 in Coney Island, and was led by veteran Thrive teaching artist Peach Tao. Due to construction at the school, the students moved the mural to the Management Office of NYCHA’s Gravesend Houses, directly across the street. The design celebrates the cultural heritage of Coney Island and favorite student activities.
